Welcome Back! I know it has been a while since I shared a blog and for a great reason. Life has been going and I have been trusting God. It is the greatest thing to do yet the hardest most times. Nevertheless, I Am Back!
I must share with you this immediate thought because people are starting to think more I am weird. I am just a God-Chaser. I was recently driving and began to think about how people have expressed my approach to life's ups and downs. We entered a new year a month ago. I must say much of it has been a blur. While driving I thought my cloth is different. As a Black woman and clergy, I have checked a few boxes on certain lists and applications.... female, black, divorce, no new year resolutions, no new this/that, no fasting in the last month either. I have simply kept my thoughts in order as best I can. Haven't we all? I asked God when, where, why, how, and what? The silence is tough! The NO is real! Yet, I continue to delight differently because of this CLOTH.
This CLOTH, clerical profession, keeps me graceful, keeps me prayerful, keeps me studying. My cloth is different and I want to challenge you to look at yours as well. We all have a ministry call yet not all will preach. Pursuing such cloth as delicate as cashmere or silk will affect every area in your life....our time management, disposition, attitude, words, deeds, appearance, where we go, interaction with others, and our entertainment choices. When considering all these things keep at the forefront a few key thoughts and always keep God centered. Here is how I remain chill, dainty, and #AlwaysGraceful.
Control what goes into your mind (what you see and hear will influence what you think & say). Remember kindness (think about how you speak to people, sometimes the manner of delivery says more than actual words). People can say the exact same thing and be perceived completely opposite just by the way they present it. Far too many think that as long as something is the truth they can run roughshod over anybody. I've seen that such is NOT true. Be consistent! We need to be faithfully serving God at all times. Pray for God's help and strength. Prayer is not the answer to everything YET it is the greatest part of the answer! Yep, I said it because there are other forms of work to do. (blog for another day). When and while struggling, go to God for help and strength. We know He cares about us. Pursue your cloth and intentionally be different. God is watching and so are others. Trust when I say the cloth is different!
