Greetings and Salutations!

We are a few hours away from Lenten Season 2021! I am inviting you to explore this Lenten Season 2021. Some of you may have done this in years past and for some this is a first time journey. This is a great journey to be on when you are seeking a different level of spiritual patience, discipline, fasting, prayer, and grace. Welcome to Lenten Season 2021, starting Ash Wednesday, February 17 - Easter Sunday, April 10th. I will share with you a document to guide you daily in scripture and prayer. It is from the Crosscards group this is 1 of 5 resources I choose to use yearly. My mom started "light Lent" when my sisters and I were teens. As we got older, we all realized the importance of it from a Spiritual sense and not just giving up junk food, sodas, candy, sweets, breads, telephone time, coffee, etc. Today it is so much more for me to spend extra time with God. I pray all day anyway however during Lent, there is true "me" time implemented differently because of the sacrifice I recall from Our Lord.

Is Lent even biblical? Lent relates to the 40-day fast that Jesus undergoes (Mark 1:13; Matthew 4:1–11; Luke 4:1–13). Mark tells us that Jesus was tempted by Satan, but it is in Matthew and Luke that the details of the temptation are fleshed out. In several studies most mention a true Fast for the observation from 3 - 6 days however most religions observe the full 40-day period to symbolize Jesus' Wilderness Experience. The Bible states he did not eat anything, I dare not ask you to try this metric of no food. However, in your spare time check out the Water Fast.

Nevertheless, I would like to encourage you to think on the things that are tempting to you on every aspect of your life. Get a good list of about 25 things. From that list pray and seriously Fast by taking 5 of those listed items to not have during this season. Why 5? 25 sounds great and allows you to think and list your matters of concern for spiritual, emotional, financial, physical, and mental needs. If this is your first rodeo 5 items will suit you just fine

What should you expect from Lent? A cleansing of the mind, body, and soul. From whatever you Fast from you should feel some type of relief, new energy, and growth in your spiritual relationship because the discipline you exercised during this time.

Remember K.I.S. (Keep It Simple) and please feel free to ask me any questions through this email. Subscribe to www.alwaysgraceful.net if you have not already as I must blog weekly during this Fast. Also find #AlwaysGraceful page on Facebook (like, share, comment). Take time to read this email and pray over it more than once as you decide if this is a journey you will take. I will share a few things with you that I am working on intentionally during this Fast: must blog weekly, limited social media, work on Women Ministry plan, debt freedom, health, and exercise goals, just to name a few. Food is already in check for me and has been for quite some time now. Life can sometimes be difficult, be mindful anytime you commit serious to God, the devil will be on your trail. When and if you feel weak, God is your strength.

If you cannot access from this site please email me from this site and I will get it out to you.

You can reach out for this fast by emailing me at monicatflynn@gmail.com or morganaminata@hotmail.com
